Can you please explain why the Cubic feet is divided by to and how the conversion factor 1.7 arrived at. Further are Voltas air coolers OK as a product.
Cubic feet is divided by 2 because we want air in the room to be exchanged twice per hour. Because 1 cfm = 1.69901082 cubic m/hr. So we use conversion factor 1.7 (rounded figure) for the convenience of readers.
Yes, voltas is a good company but we did not get a chance to review their air coolers. But I have personally used their room heater (Oil radiator type). I bought it in the year 2005 but when it developed a defect, the company did not service it. Their service center staff was surprized to know that Voltas ever manyfactured a room heater. Finally after following up with several people at Voltas, I had to get it fixed at local technician shop. It only needed a thermostat change.
Lesson learned – Never purchase a newly launched product line, even if its coming from a reputed brand.
